I went to to the doctor for an earache and it turns out my ear was totally blocked by wax. Eeew. They flushed it out, which was pretty torturous.

Nurse: "This will be loud but shouldn't hurt."
Me: "OW! OW! OW!"
Nurse: "Hmm... let's try again."
Me: "OW!!!!"
Nurse: "Are you sure it's hurting and not just uncomfortable?"
Me: "Yes, it bloody HURTS! I know what PAIN is, woman!" (ok, so I didn't say it quite like that)
Repeat general process with second nurse.
Second nurse goes off to get doctor.
Doctor arrives: "So what seems to be the problem?"
Me: "It HURTS."
Doctor: "Oh, well, yeah, it's going to hurt."
Me: "Well you should tell your nurses that."

Sigh.
