I got to see the Pirates play twice this weekend, and they won both times. They keep this up and I'm going to have to take back the bad things I keep saying about them :)

The first night I went with my brother, which is always fun. Then on Sunday I decided at the last minute to take Caitlin to see a day game. Unfortunately the spur-of-the-moment nature of the trip meant that I didn't plan very well. I didn't realize that the arts festival was downtown, and I also didn't realize that the Penguins were coming to show off the Stanley Cup before the game. 5700 people showed up to buy tickets at the door (biggest turnout ever - good thing I got our tickets online) and there was no parking to be had ANYWHERE.

After 45 minutes of trying every parking spot I could think of, and with the gas gauge running perilously close to empty, we resorted to Plan B. Rob dropped us off at the stadium and went home while Caity and I saw the game. It was a bummer, but I wasn't about to be thwarted.

Shepherding a toddler (and associated stroller/gear) through the crowds at a jam-packed Pirates game was exceedingly stressful, but well worth it. I don't think Caity quite realized that there was a game going on down on the field, but she had fun. "Look at those guys running down there!" "But Mommie they're so far away and there are so many other fun and interesting people sitting around us."

Caity did pretty well, all in all. Didn't want to sit still for long on my lap, so we walked around a lot. We even got to see the real life Stanley Cup pass by about 15 feet overhead as the Penguins were leaving the box seats (on the level above) and heading out of the stadium.

Also I found the cutest little pink Pirate outfit for her at Wal Mart. I couldn't pass it up! :)
